Geisinger Medical Center earns designation as a Magnet Hospital

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has designated Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) as a Magnet Hospital. Geisinger is one of only 15 Pennsylvania hospitals with magnet status. Fewer than 6% of hospitals nationally have this designation.
Magnet hospitals are known for excellent patient care and have nurses with a high level of job satisfaction.
The town of Danville is proud to have recognition of the high quality nursing care available at Geisinger.

New Nurse Anesthesia Program approved at Geisinger/BU

The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) has recently granted full accreditation to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and Geisinger Health System’s collaborative Nurse Anesthesia Program for a 33 month long program to train Nurse Anesthetists. Nurses completing the program will earn the designation CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
As well as spending time at Bloomsburg University for core graduate level nursing courses, students will also have a clinical component at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
